T1 Cables, E1 Cables, DS1 Cables

Most frequently, T1 cables are made of two twisted pairs of 22 AWG, 100 ohm wire with each pair individually shielded. Both shielded pairs are enclosed together in one PVC jacket.

Alternatively, if T1 standard cable is not available or economical, two runs of Category 5 cable can be used, one cat5 run for the Tx signal, the other for the Rx signal. It is necessary for the Tx and Rx signals to be in separate sheaths to prevent cross talk interference
