The LINDY Internet Video Server is an embedded system providing a preset website showing the pictures from 1 up to 4 attached video cameras. Any video camera with common Composite Video output can be attached. Upon use of so called PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, the LINDY Video Server supports remote control of the camera via integrated control port.

The Video Server converts camera pictures into TCP/IP signals that can then be sent via LAN/Internet. Any Network Web Cam solution can be installed and setup easily. Any user knowing the appropriate IP address and password can access the camera images just through his web browser. The Video Server supports Access Management Control by definition of individual users with individual access restrictions. A DEMO user can be installed allowing unrestricted access to the camera pictures (for instance to the public).

The LINDY Video Server includes two RS-232/485 remote control ports to operate PTZ cameras. Such cameras can be operated remotely with regard to zooming, turning etc... of the cameras. The Video Server also includes video analyzing software. If selected parts of the video picture change, an action can be initiated by the Video Server and an internal alarm can be released.Snapshot events (or a series of snapshots) can be defined and sent via Email or FTP.

There are certain actions the Video Server can take with regards to an alarm. The built in output ports can be set to trigger an alarm (i.e. acoustic and visual alarm), send the alarm snapshot to a certain Email address or FTP server via the LAN connection, or establish an Internet connection to an external dial-up modem to send the alarm to a security service.
