     LAN Utilities Electric Inc., (an IBEW Local 3 organization) which has facilities in New York City, Brooklyn and Hauppauge is considered one of the forerunners in the data communications and electrical industries. For over 30 years, LAN Utilities has provided data-com products and services, similar to those of your organization, extensively to Fortune 500, Governmental and non-profit organizations throughout the tri-state area.

     By utilizing our staff of bonded, insured and factory-trained technicians, we can design, Implement, document and certify your cable plant, whether cooper of fiber, to the following:

Trouble shoot common faults in twisted pair (UTP and STP), coax and fiber optics; followed by testing  and certification of appropriate cabling levels of performance.

Certify and document installations for wiring configuration, attenuation, near-end crosstalk (NEXT), loop resistance and length

State and measure the link parameters for ethernet 802.3, Fast Ethernet, 10-Base-T,4 and 16 Mbps token ring and fiber optics (FDDI).

Some of the standard and specifications we test and confirm to, but not limiting, are EIA/TIA-568, IEEE 802.31EEE 802.5 ANSI/ISO, FDDI, IBM, EIA/TIA OFSTP-14, FoTP-61 and F..D.D.I.

All of our installations come with complete documentation showing such items as:

                 Cable assembly diagrams
                 Equipment lists

As part of our regular operations, we at LAN Utilities Electric offer many advantages to a Cabling project. All the cabling that we do is thoroughly inspected and tested to ensure optimal cable performance. Each team, or teams, of technicians dispatched to a particular project are fully equipped with the latest tools in the data-com industry. Every team of electricians has a Level 5 cable analyzer and a fiber optic meter/tester. The technicians employed,at LAN Utilities are fully trained and certified (by AT&T, 3M, Siecor and Siemons) in the operation and interpretation of test results for each piece of equipment.
