Considered distinct from TCs due to the nature or complexity of equipment they contain Can provide any or all of the functions of a TC To be designed and provisioned per ANSI/EIA/TIA-569 Provides a controlled environment to house telecommunications equipment, connecting hardware, splice closures, grounding & bonding facilities and protection apparatus where applicable May contain either the MC or IC and HC for portions of the building Often contains network trunk/auxiliary terminations
