10BASE-T is a 10 Mbps system (reference IEEE 802.3) supplying Ethernet from distribution hubs via unshielded twisted
pair cabling. This is a logical bus topology with the hubs providing a physical star. While most hubs utilize an 8-position modular jack for individual port connections, some
consolidate multiple ports on a 25-pair telco connector which must be broken out into individual ports by the end user. StarLAN is an AT&T LAN available in two versions: 1 Mbps
over UTP (reference IEEE 802.3 1BASE-5) and 10 Mbps over UTP or fiber (reference IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T and FOIRL) which utilizes distributed star cabling via daisy chained hubs.
