A category 3 link consists of UTP cable and connecting hardware that has been installed according to the UTP
installation practices in TIA/EIA-568-A and whose transmission characteristics are specified up to 16 MHz. The most common applications for category 3 are 10 Mbps 10BASE-T, voice and
other low speed telecommunications systems. Due to user demand for high speed data over existing cabling, emerging 100BASE-T and Demand Access specifications intend to implement
