NOTES:
1) Mode conditioning cable are normally used in pairs. That means that you will need a MC cable at each end to connect the equipment to the cable plant. So then these cables are
usually ordered in even numbers.
2) If your gigabit LX switch is equipped with SC or LC connectors, please be sure to connect the yellow leg (Singlemode) of the cable to the transmit side, and
the orange leg (multimode) to the receive side of the equipment.
Fiber Optic COPPER CABLES:
Gigabit ethernet can now utilize Cat5 or better twisted pair cabling and the same RJ-45 connectors
that are used in 10/100Mbps networks. To achieve gigabit speeds, you must use ethernet cable with all 8 wires (four pairs) present. Many inexpensive cat5 Ethernet cables have only 4 wires and can
not reach gigabit speeds.
