Fiber Optic Cables

We provide a full line of Fiber Optic Cables for all your network requirements. Just specify the type of cable, connectors and cable length, and we will provide you with the appropriate cables with the fastest turn-around and at the most competitive price.

Specifically, when ordering cables provide us with the following information :

     Single Mode vs Multimode
     PVC vs Plenum
     Simplex vs Duplex vs Multistrand
Core Size, eg: 50, 62.5 or 100 Micron
Connectors at both ends, such as: PC, FC, SC, FDDI/MIC
     Length

Fiber Cable Size
The size of a fiber optic cable is referred to by the outer diameter of its core, cladding and coating. Example: 50/125/250 indicates a fiber with a core of 50 microns, cladding of 125 microms, and a coating of 250 microns.

Fiber Connectors
There are two types of connectors used on fiber optic cable assemblies:

     Physical Contact Connectors
     Non-Physical Contact Connectors

Physical Contact Connectors are, for the most part, being replaced by Non-Physical Contact Connectors because of differences in reliability and low loss characteristics. The highest level of reliability is provided by the FC, SC, and FDDI/MIC connectors.
