How to Order Fiber Cables

There are a number of decisions to make when ordering fiber optic cables. Below we list the major choices that you have. The list is meant to be a helpful guide for ordering standard fiber cables, not a comprehensive reference. If you have any questions, please contact us at .

  1. Choose the fiber optic glass size.
    Multimode (62.5 microns - 50 microns - 100 microns) or Singlemode (8/125 microns)
     
  2. Choose the number of fiber optic strands.
    Simplex - Duplex - 4 strands - 6 strands - 8 strands - 12 strands - 24 strands - 36 strands - 48 strands - 72 strands
     
  3. Choose the connector type for the first end.
    ST - SC - SCD - MIC - FC - ESCON - D4 - LC - MTRJ
     
  4. Choose the connector type for the second end.
     ST - SC - SCD - MIC - FC - ESCON - D4 - LC - MTRJ
     
  5. Choose the cable jacket type required.
    Riser  - Plenum - Outside Plant - Armored
     
  6. Choose the cable style.
    Breakout - Distribution - Zipcord - Loose Tube - Indoor/Outdoor
     
  7. Choose Pulling Eye.
    Specify whether you would like a Pulling Eye or not.  We highly recommend this option to protect the connectors and make installation easy.
     
  8. Choose cable length.
    Specify length in feet or meters.
